Biography

Born on May 19, 1967 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Turk Wendell (Steven John Wendell) played for the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies over the course of his 11 year career. Wendell broke into the bigs on June 17, 1993 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 4.92 ERA in 60.1 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Turk Wendell's best season was 1996, when he posted a 2.84 ERA, notched 18 saves and struck out 75 batters.
