Ex-slugger Jeff Bagwell announced Saturday that he's going on the disabled list and will have surgery to remove bone spurs from his shoulder as "a last resort" to see if he can play again. Dr. James Andrew, Bagwell's surgeon, told Bagwell that he has numerous degenerative bone spurs in his shoulder that need to be removed. If the surgery is successful Bagwell may return as a part-time player in a couple of months. It might be more likely that this is the end for the future Hall of Famer.
