Newly acquired Washington Nationals 2b Alfonso Soriano lost his arbitration case and will earn $10 million this season. Soriano asked for $12 million. Even with the loss, however, Soriano sets the record for the highest salary awarded in an arbitration, topping the $8.2 million Andruw Jones earned in 2001 from the Atlanta Braves. Soriano is entering his final year before free agency.
