Biography

Born on January 16, 1970 in Englewood, New Jersey, Ron Villone (Ronald Thomas Villone) played for the Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins and New York Yankees over the course of his 12 year career. Villone broke into the bigs on April 28, 1995 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 3.42 ERA in 52.2 innings pitched in 1997, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ron Villone's best season was 1999, when he posted a 4.23 ERA and struck out 97 batters.

Villone was also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. According to the report, Villone was referred to former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski by Denny Neagle. Between 2004 and 2005, Radomski claims that he made 3 sales of HGH to Villone, each containing two kits of HGH. Villone paid all three times in cash, sometimes sent in pages of a Mariners yearbook. Villone's name, address, and phone number were found in Radomski's seized address book.

Like most players, Villone declined to speak with investigators for the Mitchell Report.
