Chapman is probably the most famous white slam dunker in the history of the game. A Kentucky high school standout, the 6' 4 athlete was tabbed to star at the University of Kentucky, where he quickly reached All-American status. While Chapman excited many with his attacking high-leaping game, he was arguably still somewhat under-developed when was drafted by the expansion Charlotte Hornets. He was, however, a terrific fan draw for the new team and did rank among the NBA's top scorers as a Hornet. Later also a Washington Bullet, Chapman's best days may have been with the Phoenix Suns. No longer the All-Star he had been in Charlotte with injuries over the course his career, Chapman developed the rest of his game to help the contending Suns as a solid NBA starter.
