Biography

Born on January 12, 1950 in Fullerton, California, Randy Jones (Randall Leo Jones) played for the San Diego Padres and New York Mets over the course of his 10 year career. Jones broke into the bigs on June 16, 1973 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 3.16 ERA in 139.2 innings pitched in 1973, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Randy Jones's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1976, when he posted a 2.74 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 93 batters. However, others believe that it was 1975, when he posted a 2.24 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 103 batters.
