On February 15, 2006 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Boston Celtics' Paul Pierce scored a career-high 50 points on 17-36 shooting from the field and 16-20 from the free throw line. Pierce is the first Celtics player to score 50 points since Larry Bird in 1989. He did not make a single three point shot. The Celtics went on to lose the game 113-109 in double overtime, with the Cavaliers being led by LeBron James' triple-double.
