Born on June 4, 1908 in Rockford, Illinois, Orville Jorgens (Orville Edward Jorgens) played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 3 year career. Jorgens broke into the bigs on April 19, 1935 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 4.83 ERA in 188.1 innings pitched in 1935, his rookie year.
