Boston Red Sox left fielder Manny Ramirez arrived in training camp today as promised, ending speculation that he might not arrive after Boston was unable to fulfill his trade request. His arrival was eagerly awaited by fans, reporters, and apparently right fielder Trot Nixon, who said "He's my teammate. I care about him, I love him, and he's a big part of this ball club. We all look forward to seeing him." Last year with the Sox Ramirez had 144 RBIs, 45 home runs, and a .292 batting average in 554 at-bats. Boston's first game of Spring Training will be against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, then split-squad games against Boston College and Northeastern University on Friday.
