Joe Rowe a former University of Virginia and NFL defensive back was born in East Elmhurst, NY in 1973. Joe attended Greensville County High School where he set records, in track, football, and baseball. Mr. Rowe decided to attend UVA and started playing football for the hoos in 1992. Mr. Rowe's size allowed him to play both corner and safety. At UVA Rowe bounced back and forth. Joe Rowe saw action as a redshirt freshman against Florida State where Rowe broke up two passes. Due to injuries Mr. Rowe primarily saw action on special teams until his senior year where he started 14 games before being injured as a corner. Rowe joined the Green Bay Packers in 1998, and then moved to the St. Louis Rams in 1999. Rowe played in 5 games for the Rams and registered 3 tackles. Mr. Rowe was injured during his second year in the NFL and never returned.
