Biography

Joe Randa (Joseph Gregory Randa) was born on December 18, 1969 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He made his Major League debut on April 30, 1995 for the Kansas City Royals. In 1996, his rookie year, he hit .303 with 6 home runs and 47 RBI. Randa played for the Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Joe Randa's best season was 1999, when he slugged 16 home runs, hit for a .314 average and knocked in 84 runs.

On November 2, 2006, Randa announced his retirement. He batted .284/.339/.426 with 123 HRs and 739 RBIs in 1,522 games over 12 seasons

Randa's nickname is "The Joker" because of his resemblance to the comic book character in Batman, and the way he "smiles" when he's up to bat. He was given this nickname when he played in 97' from Pittsburgh.

Joe Randa is currently a host of Crunch Time on Sports Radio 810 WHB in Kansas City.
