Biography[]

Jocelyn Thibault (born January 12, 1975 in Montreal, Québec) is a goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques 10th overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play for the Nordiques, continuing after they moved to Denver and became the Colorado Avalanche, and also for the Montreal Canadiens. In 1995, he was traded to the Canadiens, along with Andrei Kovalenko and Martin Rucinsky for Patrick Roy and Mike Keane. After playing with the Canadiens, he was traded to the Blackhawks for Eric Weinrich, Jeff Hackett and Alain Nasreddine. In the 2002-03 season, he made his first appearance in the 2003 NHL All-Star Game. Thibault was acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins on August 10, 2005 for a Fourth Round Pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

He has the distinction of being the winning goaltender of the last games at both the Montreal Forum in 1996, and Maple Leaf Gardens in 1999.
