The Marlins placed outfielder Jeremy Hermida on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 12, with a strained hip flexor. Surprising news. Hermida was taking batting practice and running over the weekend, and the Sun-Sentinel reported today that he’d be back early this week. Chris Aguila will continue to act as the primary right fielder until Hermida returns. Matt Cepicky should see limited action behind him."
The 22-year-old rookie of the year candidate is now on the disabled list. Before the season started, most people saw Hermida making a very big impact this year. He started the season off slow (per se) and hasn’t played recently. As Rotoworld stated, this came as a bit of a surprise. Hopefully the injury isn’t something that will be chronic and a hindrance for Hermida and the Florida Marlins. I still see Jeremy coming off this injury and being semi-successful. The talent is completely there, and all he needs to do is adjust. This injury is going to hurt the Florida Marlins in the short term, especially my man Miguel Cabrera. Hopefully Miggy will be able to withstand his supporting cast while the young stud is out. Here’s hoping for a quick and healthy return for Jeremy Hermida.
