Biography

Jeff Bagwell (Jeffrey Robert Bagwell) was born on May 27, 1968 in Boston, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on April 8, 1991 for the Houston Astros. In 1991, his rookie year, he hit .294 with 15 home runs and 82 RBI. Bagwell played for the Houston Astros for his entire 15 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Jeff Bagwell's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2000, when he slugged 47 home runs, hit for a .310 average and knocked in 132 runs. However, others believe that it was 1997, when he slugged 43 home runs, stole 31 bases, hit for a .286 average and knocked in 135 runs.
