Biography

Dwight Smith (John Dwight Smith) was born on November 8, 1963 in Tallahassee, Florida. He made his Major League debut on May 1, 1989 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1989, his rookie year, he hit .324 with 9 home runs and 52 RBI. Smith played for the Chicago Cubs, California Angels, Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Dwight Smith's best season was 1989, when he hit for a .324 average and knocked in 52 runs.
