Born on May 16, 1967 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Doug Brocail (Douglas Keith Brocail) played for the San Diego Padres, Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers over the course of his 12 year career. Brocail broke into the bigs on September 8, 1992 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 4.56 ERA in 128.1 innings pitched in 1993, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Doug Brocail's best season was 1999, when he posted a 2.52 ERA and struck out 78 batters.
