Biography

Born on May 11, 1918 in Norcatur, Kansas, Dewey Adkins (John Dewey Adkins) played for the Washington Senators and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 3 year career. Adkins broke into the bigs on September 19, 1942 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 5.68 ERA in 82.1 innings pitched in 1949, his rookie year.
