Biography[]

Born on January 2, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri, David Cone (David Brian Cone) played for the Kansas City Royals, New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 17 year career. Cone broke into the bigs on June 8, 1986 with the Kansas City Royals, and put up a 3.71 ERA in 99.1 innings pitched in 1987, his rookie year.

Most people believe that David Cone's best season was 1988, when he posted a 2.22 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 213 batters.
