It looks like the Saints are making a big push for Drew Brees. If the Saints were to sign him, how much better would it make the Saints and how would it affect the Chargers? I think this immediately make the Saints better. Going from Aaron Brooks to Drew Brees is like night and day. The Saints do have other needs to address, but an offense featuring Brees, Deuce McAllister, and Joe Horn could be pretty good. For the Chargers, I think it's a step back. Philip Rivers is completely unproven. When you have a proven QB like Brees and gamble on Rivers, it's a risk that shouldn't be taken. I could see the Chargers taking a step back next year and missing the playoffs again.
