Born on February 6, 1969 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Bob Wickman (Robert Joe Wickman) played for the New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 14 year career. Wickman broke into the bigs on August 24, 1992 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.11 ERA in 50.1 innings pitched in 1992, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Bob Wickman's best season was 2001, when he posted a 2.39 ERA, notched 32 saves and struck out 66 batters.
Scouting Report[]
Wickman is known amongst the fans of teams for which he has closed as having a tendency to make every save interesting. Many fans have joked that they might as well just start off the inning by automatically putting the first two runners on base to save time.
