Biography[]

Born on April 6, 1951 in Zeist, Netherlands, Bert Blyleven (Rik Aalbert Blyleven) played for the Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Indians and California Angels over the course of his 22 year career. Blyleven broke into the bigs on June 5, 1970 with the Minnesota Twins, and put up a 3.18 ERA in 164 innings pitched in 1970, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bert Blyleven's best season was 1973, when he posted a 2.52 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 258 batters.
