Rules and Exceptions
Rule 2: If the bases are loaded in a tight game, bringing the infielders in will give you your best shot at forcing out the runner going from third to home. But this only works if the ball is hit hard right at an infielder. Caveat emptor: By bringing the infield in, you may end up sacrificing a run and an out on a play the fielder would have made if he were positioned normally. Only use this strategy in desperate situations.
