In an effort to continue to defy logic and once again prove that he has little to no football sense at all, Dan Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins, fired both his offensive and defensive coordinators. Al Saunders and Gregg Williams both had time remaining on their contracts. This move comes as a surprise because the 'Skins are currently in the hunt for a head coach after Hall of Fame head coach Joe Gibbs retired just after the 2007 season ended.

The Washington Redskins have been in the news all week, while going through the interview process for a head coach. Dan Snyder has interviewed six coaches at this point, and he will continue the process after the Super Bowl is over. The interesting twist in this plot has to be the fact that Snyder insisted that consistency was the goal of the organization after Gibbs resigned. If that were the case then the odds on favorite for his successor would have been Gregg Williams who has both the fan and the player’s endorsement.

In the upcoming weeks, it will be interesting to see which way the Redskins go in making a decision for the off-season. The one thing that you can be certain about is Dan Snyder will not allow the Redskins to drift too far from the front page even if there is that pesky Super Bowl as a distraction.
