Panthers Slip Past Bearcats

[1] Young's dunk was the cap to Pitt's second half run

It was a close game virtually the whole way, but the Pitt Panthers were able to overcome some mediocre play to edge Cincy (for the first time in two tries this year), 73-67. Sam Young and DeJuan Blair led the way, as usual, with 20 and 18 points respectively. The clutch shot that really put the Bearcats away was Levance Fields' 3-ball with 54 seconds to play, making it a two score game. Pitt converted enough free throws from there to escape with a win. It was great to see Levance step up and nail a big shot, since he hasn't made much of an impact since Duke. The other highlight was a sick windmill jam from Sam Young. That was the key to a late run by the Panthers to take and solidify the lead for good. Pitt is now tied with Cincy at 7th in the Big East and will play at Syracuse on Saturday.
