The Philadelphia Flyers scored four goals in the second period, including two by Jeff Carter within a span of 13 seconds, and Philadelphia beat the Atlanta Thrashers 4-1 on Tuesday night at Philips Arena to continue their domination of the all-time series. A crowd of 13,047 saw the home team blow a 1-0 lead after the first intermission.
It was the Flyers' eighth straight win over the Thrashers. The Flyers are 12-2-1 all-time at Atlanta and overall have won 23 of 30 games in the series, including two games this season. The Thrashers, who are hosting this year's All Star Game, have been within a game of .500 for 11 straight games but haven't managed to win consecutive games since December 22-23. Philadelphia out shot the Thrashers 29-28 in the contest.
Atlanta stays home to take on the Florida Panthers at Philips Arena Thursday night with a 7 p.m. face-off slated.
