Spring training isn't even a week old and already there's smack talking within the National League East. Outfielder Carlos Beltran called out Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins and said that the New York Mets are "the team to beat."
As Manny would say "WHAT THE FACK???" This is the same Beltran that was exiled from Houston a few years ago and these are the same New York Mets that choked toward the end of the 2007 season, giving the Phillies the NL East crown. Beltran hit .276 with the Mets last season, while Rollins hit .296. My message to Beltran is in the words of "Mike and Mike:" JUST SHUT UP! This is not your year! There's a new sherrif in town and you may have heard of them. The Atlanta Braves. Plus they have one of your former teammates, Tom Glavine, back, so if I were you, I would sit in your little corner in Flushing, get ready to move to the new ballpark next Spring and take my butt whipping Georgia-style.
