B.J. and Justin Upton are two brothers with dreams at being a MLB star. Both brothers each want to see each other do great and they want each other to succeed. Both B.J. and Justin are now MLB players, who could be on the rise of being stars.
B.J. Upton, born August 21, 1984. He grew up in Norfolk, Virgina with his parents and his younger brother, Justin. B.J. had dreams of becoming a Major Leaguer. He was drafted 2nd overall by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 2002 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut on August 2, 2004 for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In the 2008 playoffs, Upton was a force that we have never seen. He had more power that he had ever had in a season. In the ALDS against the Chicago White Sox, Upton hit 3 HRs and drove in 4 runs in 4 games. In the 2008 ALCS against the Boston Red Sox, Upton hit 4 HRs and drove in 11 runs in 7 games. In 2009, Upton had a horrible start, but has picked it up for the last couple months. This year B.J. has 7 HRs, 34 RBIs, and is batting .240, with 57 runs scored and 32 stolen bases, as well. B.J. still has a lot of potential but his best performance may be in the past.
Justin Upton, born August 25, 1987. He grew up in Norfolk, Virgina with his parents and his older brother B.J. Justin always had a dream that he could play baseball, no matter what level. He was drafted 1st overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2005 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut August 2, 2007 for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Justin Upton is having a breakout 2009 season. He made his first All-Star game appearance this year, while hitting .288, 16 HRs, 56 runs, and 54 RBIs. Upton with his great 2009 season could be a star in the future of the MLB. Justin has more power and a better average than his brother, but Justin is not as fast. B.J. just becuase he had a bad offensive year this year dosen't mean he won't have a good future, he still has a lot of potential. Justin Upton should have many good years in the future. If I had to have one Upton of my team I would take Justin. He hits for average, power and he is very clutch. If I was in the postseason I would take B.J. because of his past in the postseason. In my mind, both Uptons have a lot of potential, but Justin has the potential to become a star.
