Biography

Born on May 30, 1871 in Mooresville, Indiana, Amos Rusie (Amos Wilson Rusie) played for the Indianapolis Hoosiers, New York Giants and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 10 year career. Rusie broke into the bigs on May 9, 1889 with the Indianapolis Hoosiers, and put up a 5.32 ERA in 225 innings pitched in 1889, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Amos Rusie's best season was 1891, when he posted a 2.55 ERA, won 33 games and struck out 337 batters.
