Vikings Relevant/Johan Content

In one week we went from being significant to being Relevant.

Here are the standings for the second wild-card spot.

Giants: 8-4

Cardinals: 6-6

Lions: 6-6

Vikings: 6-6

Those standings being said, it looks as if the Vikings are being picked by many experts (Mike Ditka and Ron Jaworski) to be the second team in. The Lions have fallen far from a 6-2 start, the Cardinals are an even 6-6, and the Vikings are an up and coming, hot 6-6 team.

You know how when you play video games the players can make amazing moves? Well, when you watch Adrian Peterson, he plays real life just like a video game. His jukes, leaps and speed bursts are amazing and exciting to watch.

Aundrae Allison has been a player I have loved watching. Really I loved using his speed on Madden and wanted to see it come to fruition in real life. Well, Sunday it did. He had a couple nice catches and his 103-yard kickoff return was brilliant.

Sidney Rice looks a lot like a player. His height reminds many of Randy Moss. The one thing I see him learning is balance. While he made a great catch against the Lions for a TD, he fell to the ground while catching it and I’m not sure if he got two feet or a butt down before he was out. The announcers compared that catch to one Randy used to make, but Randy normally ended on two feet (even Marcus Robinson landed on two feet).

The Vikings are making a serious push and with 3-9 San Francisco, 5-7 Chicago, Washington and Denver remaining they really do “control their own destiny”.

On the Twins Front: So much trade speculation this weekend. Here is what I have to say to Hank Steinbrenner’s Monday deadline. He can make whatever deadlines he wants, but in the end we have said we are content to keep Johan, and he will not get him. Johan will either be a Twin or a Red Sox, and kill the Yankees either way. Whether this team trades Johan or not, they could still be a competitive team this year.

Personally, I like the Red Sox trades better. Lowrie and Ellsbury are everyday MLB players. If we get Lester or Buchholz that’s great, but if we just get Masterson and Bowie I’m happy with that too. We have plenty of pitching and if need be we can sign a guy like Kris Benson.

The Yankees are evil, and the Red Sox are good. Go Twins!

Damnit, you can't read the bottom corner. It reads: "Warning: Choking Hazard"
