The other day, I posted the video of Ireland drawing with Zimbabwe. But now they faced a much tougher test, a game against a tournament favourite, Pakistan. Also, Bangladesh played another favourite India. Bangladesh are an improving side, but really aren't that good.
The support of the Irish fans was excellent. Pakistan are out, and Ireland are almost guaranteed of a place in the Super Eight - which was supposed to feature the top 8 in the world. Ireland are barely in the top 16 in the world, which considering only about 25 countries in the world can field a team, is a huge shock. Bangladesh perhaps less so, but it's such a shock to see Bangladesh beating top opposition - but I expect more of it in the future.
The Ireland innings (the one that got Botha out) featured probably the worst umpiring decision in World Cup History!
