The NFL Top 10 (11/28/07)

The series that also gets me in trouble is back. I took a break after the tragic story of Sean Taylor's death.

1. New England Patriots. They should not have won that game, they'll probably cruise against the offensively AND defensively challenged Ravens.

2. Dallas Cowboys. At least until Thursday possibly.

3. Green Bay Packers. See previous.

4. Indianapolis Colts. See? They got some weapons back, and rip the Falcons a new butthole from the 2nd quarter and beyond.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers. Classic 3-0 win over the Dolphins, can they go for a 2-0 win against the Bungles?

6. Jacksonville Jaguars. This team is not getting the respect it deserves, they have that tie for the division lead with a win over Indy this weekend.

7. Cleveland Browns. Nice win over the Texans at home. Can they really get a home playoff game?

8. Seattle Seahawks. Why can't they just win like the other teams can? You know, not by a last second play? Oh, and Insan, wherever you are, no cheating this time.

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I guess you're a good team if you don't get a first down in the 2nd half and win.

10. A litter of teams at 6-5. These guys are really tough cookies to figure out, I can't put one at number 10 at all.

50000000000000005. Notre Dame. Kicking ass and taking names against STANFORD BABY!!! Call for a BCS Bowl Charlie.

50000000000000006. Miami Dolphins. Yep, lose by 3 again.

Okay folks, your turn to decide.

Not a bad list, but I dont kow if its just me having trouble seeing the Browns up there, or Im stillnot sold on a team with a mediocre defense.

I was going to refute this, but the stats show the Browns are last in almost every major defensive category. This is why I try to ignore stats...I was enjoying the Browns run and now I'm worried.

The Titans, Chargers and Lions are the only 6-5 teams...I'd go Titans...their defense will appear again...

As long as Eli is at the Helm the Giants should never be considered a legit anything. Its like having Jeff Blake calling the shots.

I'm gonna go out on a limb, but I think Eli is a good QB...

Peyton was nurtured in Indy, even though he was thrown into the fire...

Eli was tossed in with a complete idiot of a coach...I'd bet that if you give Eli a players' coach (like Dungy) he'll perform admirably...everyone has bad games (peyton threw 6 picks the other week)

Wanna solve the problems? Fire Coughlin...actually, keep coughlin, I'm fine with it ; - )

I think you make a good point in the way that Eli and Peyton were handled, however I think you are missing the big point. Eli is not his brother. Peyton is a HOF phenomnial QB. Eli is an okay qb. He is John Kitna. 8-8 is great can get ya to the mountaintop but not going over the top.

I think the Bucs are a suprisingly good football team and it pains me to say that because I really dislike John Gruden. I do think the Giants are slightly better than the Lions becauseof their defense.

Speaking of the Vikings, I wouldn't be surprised to see them sneak into the picture, particularly if AP can come back at full strength (or heck, even at 90% strength).

Pean, I forgot about the Giants. Even so, they've lost 3 out of 4 games this year at home. They still have to go to Chicago, Philly, a home game against the Redskins, the Patriots, and Buffalo. I see them with a 9-7 record with a road game against Seattle.

The Vikings are an interesting team. Theyhav ea very good defense that has frustrated some of the best offenses in the NFL. However, (Steven A Smith style) the complete abstance of a passing game makes me extremly lery of them.

Eli is a very good qb with a terrible coaching staff. It's hard to be consistent when your line isn't, when your #1 is so injured all he can do is run vertical routes. When your best receiver has 3 screws in his ankle and is being asked to block more then go for passes again. I love the stupified look on Tom's face after every bad play lol!

The Eagles are at the 20 with 3:30, why did they go for the end zone? They were beaten until Feeley threw a pitch and catch to Asante Samuel.

I drank the Koolaid until after the 2004 superbowl...

I remember sitting there w/ 5 minutes left watching McNabb take his sweet ass time...and saying to myself...Andy Reid knows what he's doing, he'll get us through this and we'll win...

I was wrong...and i've been wrong ever since. His playcalling his most evident with McNabb at QB. Let the guy run the early 2000s WC system and the eagles will do fine. McNabb has a gun, its fine to let him throw it deep occassionally, keep the defense honest, but the TO era and beyond has led to more and more deep balls. Take a look at the early 2000s when the eagles were very sucessful, they threw the all the time, only difference was it was short passes that equated to runs...that's changed now and Feeley forced him back into that...

If McNabb starts agaisnt seattle and the giants and Dallas the goes 1-2 over that span, giving the eagles 8 losses, don't think Kolb won't start to see some time and McNabb will be gone next year. Its playoffs or bust for McNabb's Philly career
