The Seahawks are 4-4, are 1st in the NFC West, 3-1 at home, and 3-1 against divisional opponents. Watch out San Fran.
Game: San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks
When: 8:30 PM EST/5:30 PM PST
Where: ESPN, Ch.11 in Seattle
Why: Because the NFL said so.
Commentators: A black guy, a bald guy, and a quarterback.
Rundown: The Seahawks are coming off a tough 33-30 OT loss to the Cleveland Browns, after leading the entire game. San Fran is riding a 6 game losing streak, and lost 20-16 to the Atlanta Falcons, with JOEY HARRINGTON as QB!! That's just bad.
When the Seahawks are on offense:
1. Give me some Mo. Maurice Morris will play Monday night due to Shaun Alexander's 85544554545th injury so far. That gave Holmgren this crazy idea that there is such a thing as a backup. Morris is averaging 4.6 yards per carry, and scored on a 49 yard TD pass on in the opener against Tampa. He is a good receiving threat, but 4th and short situations are his main weakness due to his stature.
2. Shred that 49ers defense. I don't know what happened overnight, but the 49ers defense is alarmingly bad. Bobby Engram and DJ Hackett will be big contributors in the passing game, while Deion Branch will likely miss this game (sprained foot).
3. Pass the ball on 4th and 1, sneak it if you have to. Please Holmgren, use Weaver, use Hasselbeck to sneak, he's 6'3! Pass, bootleg, anything! Don't run left tackle with Morris!
When the Seahawks are on defense:
1. Don't get cocky. We know that the 49ers offense is like a snail, it'll take them hours to travel 3 yards. However, we've seen the Saints game, and the Seahawks defense better show up in this game.
2. 3rd and long. No more cover 3 and allowing receivers to get 20 yards while your DB's are 30 yards down field on a 3rd and 15. That's what's killing Seattle, because it's that exact thing that has killed them in every loss.
3. No more blitzing. The Seahawks blitz package is terrible, and you can get to Alex Smith on a 2 man rush. No need to blitz, just defend the pass, and you're set.
4. Frank Gore. Don't let him run wild on you now. I know he's done nothing this year, but it's Seattle.
5. Let former Seahawk Darrell Jackson run by himself. He'll drop the ball anyway.
Special Teams: Kick to Nate, things will be great.
When the 49ers are on offense:
1. Start praying.
2. That offensive line better stop somebody, Alex Smith is getting killed (AKA: pray some more)
When the 49ers are on defense: 1. Continue praying.
Special teams: 1. Pray some more. Prediction: Seahawks 30 49ers 10.
What do you think? I believe the 49ers have little chance to win the way they are playing.
