The 40 minute 1/2 inning of bliss... (BoSox Buzz Blog)

Oh my it was incredible...the bottom half of the 7th inning (40 minutes and 62 pitches) may have been what the Red Sox needed to keep this thing going. It was nice to see a team this week on the other side of the whole walk thingy. Our batters looked so patient and focused...regardless of who it was against your supposed to be that way and they were.

Coco Crisp & Kason Gabbard played AWESOME! It is great to see Coco turning it around and he will really be the center fielder the Sox need. This man has talent and the more comfortable he gets and the better he does were going to see some fun and exciting things...Trust me we don't even know yet.

Kason is just a look into the future of this staff. He can pitch and he does it without making much noise almost Okajima like. He has confidence and he is riding a good wave. I think like everything we need to see how he faces adversity. But as long as he continues to do what he does we can rest assure good things for this team and especially when Curt Schilling comes back. Kason has now a 2.94 ERA as a starter not to mention a 4-0 record in 5 appearances. I will agree with Fox announcer Joe Girardi when Schill gets healthy and if Kason stays reliable I would put Julian Tavarez back in to long relief. That could be a great move in the long run.

Honorable mention today would have to be for J.D. Drew...he hit the ball well and it seemed like he saw the ball well coming out of the pitchers hands. I am glad he had 2 R.B.I's and more importantly scored two runs! That makes 4 runs! He is going to get it going and let's face it do we need it in June or September...I'll take September!

As I read my Fox game trax report it's good to see Matt Clement is coming along well...he may pitch long relief for the Sox in September if all goes well. Say what you want I love a player with no quit!

Schilling Pitched three innings of shutout ball for the Paw Sox and David Ortiz is ok! Great news all around so far this weekend!

Great game good job...let's keep it rolling!

Red Sox 11 -- White Sox 2

Let's hope Yanks lose game 2 tonight!

Well, the Yankees are on top, and they won their first game today. They're doing pretty well, and it doesn't really matter what they do (unless they play .650 ball or something), IMO, it matters how the Red Sox do. If they keep doing what they did in the first half, they should make the playoffs. Gabbard has really stepped up as a young pitcher with a lotta talent, and has filled in quite nicely for Curt Schilling. The Red Sox offense has proved once again that they are pretty dominating when they're red hot.

If I was Terry Francona would sit Tavarez and let Gabbard be the fifth starter. He has earned a shot at it with a 4-0 record.
