Stick A Fork In It (10/08/2007)

Its Monday and its time for another installment of stick a fork in it............
So Stick A Fork In....................
The Anaheim Angels- The Boston Red Sox once again swept the Angels in the first round after a 9-1 victory yesterday in Anaheim. Schilling looked shocklingly good pitching 8 shutout innings. GAG-Ne gave away the shut out but even he couldn't blow a 9 run lead in half an inning. So 3 out of the 4 LCS teams are set.....
Joe Torre-After Steinbrenner reported Torre's job rides with the outcome of this series. With the Yankees on the brink of elimination, its hard to fathom a comeback, Wang and the Rocket stunk up the joint in their outings, A-Rod remains Mr. April-September and even if they pull off a game 4 victory they would have to go back to Cleveland which I dont believe they can do. Talk about a bandwagon, Torre went from almost being fired in the middle of the season, to Manager of the Year candidate to now being out of a job soon. Tough break
Peace in College Football-Yes its time for the most dreaded 3 letters in college football: BCS. The BCS rankings begin next week and like most years, its bound to cause controversy, its been upset central with USC, Texas, Michigan,Florida all losing and like most years theres a runaway No. 1 LSU and then what, could you imagine having to pick between BC and South Florida in the BCS Title game. The BCS wants ratings so look for them to be leapfrogged even if they go undefeated.
NLCS Rankings- So the Rockies and Diamondbacks put away the Cubs and Phillies with young rosters and notable no names. I just learned about Toluwtski on the Rockies after watching the Phillies game and I dont even know when the D-Backs changed their uniforms. Weren't they black, purple and turquoise? And thats when Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson were in the end of their primes. As bad as the NL is we don't even get to see Soriano, Howard, Rollins, and Zambrano. I'll wait for someone to write on here to find out who won....yawn...
Trent Green's Career- I found what he did to be very admirable, but nonetheless I hope doctors tell him not to walk on another football field. I mean no one wants to end their career like that but he barely rebounded from last years concussion, he's still a Hall of Famer I think, he has a ring (as a backup in St Louis) I think its over for Trent. Now a moment of silence for Miami's next QB/Victim....John Beck or some other guy
My fantasy Team- I have Andre Johnson, Santana Moss, Anquan Boldin, and Larry Johnson.....you do the math
