haha, no need to worry about your favorite teams, we aren't completely nuts. The major sports leagues are way too corporate to allow something like this. Realistically, we are looking at minor league and semi-pro teams like independent baseball, ABA,AHL etc. We've had conversations with some and most are very receptive to our approach.
Ya, thanks for the reads Joe. I get it now, I should of gotten it the first time around, but the buying a share of the decisions made a direct connection to ownership in my mind; common mistake I'm sure. Anyway, I think the best way I can generate buzz is to go to your site and take a closer look at the whole thing; then I'm interested in writing an article on it. I think if I write it from the perspective of one of the theorical fan GMs, it can be both entertaining and productive.
Personally, I would never want this to happen to one of my teams. So don't go trying to by the Raiders, Lakers, Dodgers, LA Galaxy or Arsenal FC. Thanks ;)

Gotta say, I'm from NJ but my LA partner Grant constantly emails us links to articles on the blog. Keep up the great writing.
Thank you for the question. What we are offering is actually not community ownership but control. The $5 get fans membership as the "Collective GM" of the team. Think real world fantasy sport, for less money. I'll try not to put you to sleep, but basically to offer shares of a team would constitute a public stock offering which would get the SEC involved and drive the costs way up and make fan voting rigid/highly regulated/profit oriented. We don't want that, we want to give fans actual control of the on-field product for the lowest possible cost, even teams that sell "shares" in their team (Packers, Cleveland Indians) don't actually give the fans a say.
If theres any way you could help us generate some buzz, we would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Joe
