That is a good point...had forgotten about the Mets trading Scott Kazmir. They got Victor Zambrano in the trade and he had a 10-14 record before moving to another team. Bartolome Fortunato the other pitcher the Mets got in the trade is 2-0 with the Mets but hasn't pitched for them since 2006. Bannister and Kazmir both had good seasons last year with their new teams.

Minaya has a tendency to get wrapped up in pitchers 'stuff'. Bannister, a smart guy, a battler and a very intelligent pitcher just didn't fit the Mets pitching mold.

That trade looks like it may hurt the Mets quite a bit. It did last year. And with Pedro out, it will hurt them this year.

Much like Lastings Milledge and Scott Kazmir, the Mets gave him away for nothing.

Why would Minaya trade for a 7-10 pitcher? I would have given you a plus but for some reason I am not seeing the plus and minus hands on my page and it is not even letting me comment.
