Niteowl049's Board
I'm puzzled by your statement "Ted Williams was 2 for 15 and hit .133 against Score." Are you talking about a single season?
I saw 4 homers. Baseball Reference shows 4.
thanks and its no problem. Im probably going to start the articles next week since I have a lot of finals and stuff to do for school this week but look out for it to start next week
Hey Owl!
Were you talking about the Tampa Bay article? My brain's been in a fog with the cold meds and finals.
Yo! So I'm interviewing Jonathan Vilma and asking Saints fans to submit questions they'd like answered. If you got one, leave it on my blog at the link below. http://chicksinthehuddle.com/2008/04/25/chick-chattin-with-vilma/ Thanks and WHO DAT!
He spent the last four years catching Felix Hernandez, so I doubt anyone would impress him much. If the Braves struggle, I would think they would consider trading Teixeira before the deadline. He likely won't resign in Atlanta so might as well get a bunch of prospects for him if they can. And he is a notoriously slow starter, I'm not at all worried about his production, or lack thereof. He's my pick for NL MVP.
Minaya has a tendency to get wrapped up in pitchers 'stuff'. Bannister, a smart guy, a battler and a very intelligent pitcher just didn't fit the Mets pitching mold.
That trade looks like it may hurt the Mets quite a bit. It did last year. And with Pedro out, it will hurt them this year.
Much like Lastings Milledge and Scott Kazmir, the Mets gave him away for nothing.
Congrats on the article devoted to you. It was well deserved. In my opinion, your work on this site is unparalleled.
Great work on the 'Meet the Users' there Niteowl.
Considering you did all the work, it seems unfair to give credit to the "author" so I won't vote for the article nor comment on the thread.
But I wanted you to know that I did read what you discussed.
Thanks for sharing.
I miss Schmidt...Tonight was something that I need to get used to fast...great pitching from Cain (5.2 with 0 runs givin up) and we don't help him out and Hennessy gives up 2 in 0.2, I can't take it Niteowl! I can't go through another season of losing :'(
Tyrone clearly has issues with me pertaining to his fragile ego and jealousy of my writing and creativity. He thinks I give a crap about him but I don't... he entertains me in how he calls me things that he really is...
I don't have problems with anyone on this site when they are ADDING to the site and trying to detract from it; and I just prefer not to be personally attacked and have people turned against me constantly.
Maybe you can talk some sense into him?
Because the stuff he does to me makes little sense. He is just trying to drag my name and efforts through the mud he lives in - I'm his personal Jay Mariotti!
I'm pretty sure, with the dealings we've had you know what I'm about and what kind of person I am.
I thought Tyrone was pretty classless for writing his article and using your name in the title when it BARELY had anything to do with you.
And nothing will ever convince me Harold Baines is a HoFer no matter how much Tyrone wants to make it out to be a me vs. him issue - I don't play those petty games... I just really don't see Baines as a HoFer
I wish the most luck in your endeavors but, Please beware the company you keep.
Check this out. And it gets tolerated here:

It wasn't really you that got blasted on that thread. Basically a certain blabbermouth here is hellbent on arguing/personally insult me on any issue. I could've just as easily declared Harold Baines is NOT a HOFer and the exact opposite stance would've been assumed by that same person.
Since nobody here is going to do anything about it, this problem unfortunately is not going to go away anytime soon.
I think the silent majority already know the real deal with this nasty troll that infected your thread yesterday. And by far, your work is respected by the overwhelming majority at ArmchairGM.
Keep writing. Because the right people are definitely reading.
Yes, I know and agree with you completely. Nice to also clearly see that the Code of Conduct applies to some and not others.
Nice article NiteOwl. Too bad a few of the ignorant and misinformed had to ruin the thread with an inane argument that there is nothing wrong with the HOF voting process and that Baines (and this is laughable to say the least) should not be in the HOF. Baines is absolutely a HOFer. Oh well.
Haha that was me when I was a kid too. Best of luck to him and make sure he never gives up on himself.
I personally always had fun going through baseball drills over and over and over. I liked it AND it helped me get better. If he's the same way then he shouldn't have a single thing to worry about.
Yes, the Cubs do have a good enough team. But I fear the Mets and Brewers. I have learned not to get my hopes up and just roll with torn ligaments and muscle strains.
I was working for the Red Sox when Boggs was coming up. In all my years of watching baseball Boggs name comes up all the time as being the most impressive hitter in batting practice. I've seen him hit balls in Fenway and Yankee Stadium that not many other sluggers could reach. He was smart enough to realize that he could make a nice living slapping balls off the Green Monster instead of hitting 30 HR a year, which he was quite capable of. Boggs lack of power was by design. You have to remember also that in the late '70's the DH was still relatively new. Teams would sign washed up veterans to fill the spot, not like today where DH's are developed at the minor league level. Until the Red Sox got tired of Butch Hobson making 25 errors a season Boggs had no place to play, and remember one other thing too, in the minor leagues, he was a first baseman.
