Thanks for taking the time to talk to me John. It's nice going back to the days when baseball players were real heroes. I grew up watching the expansion Senators,and after they left us,the Orioles. I know the Senators were before your time but I wish we had had more arms like yours. I loved those guys. I'm happy to have the new Nationals here now,no matter what they do. Thank you John.That's very nice of you and I promise not to bother you too much! You're one of the very few that achieves what most of us can only dream of. I can only imagine what it's like to play with and against major leaguers and to meet all of the people that you encountered in your years . I don't say play with "the greats" because you all were on a different level. I would like to ask you something and I hope it's not rude. You had some great minor league numbers,leading up to your great rookie year.Did wear and tear give you arm problems? You bounced back and had a terrific year out of the San Diego bullpen in 1978. Were you used improperly over the years? You had such great stuff. That's it! I hope you don't mind that I asked. The stats and numbers hardly tell the true story.I've met several players and ex-players and I have to say that most of you are very gracious and good role models. I miss old school baseball and baseball players. Have a great day!
