Rip the Sex Cannon! Caption Contest (9/25/07)

Well nobody really paid much attention to yesterday's caption contest so it is declared null and void.

In honor of last night's prime time debacle and complete embarrassment to Chicago, all caption contributions MUST mention beleaguered quarterback Rex Grossman in order to be eligible.

And to the rest of the Bears offense? You stunk. Even worse than those ugly rag tag "retro" uniforms worn by the Philadelphia Eagles.

I think Gorssman is getting a raw deal here. I watched him. He had a horrid second half, but he was forced to throw the entire time. It wasn't Grossman who couldn't figure out how to stop T.O., Marion Barber or Julius Jones. It wasn't Grossman who put the ball on the ground giving Dallas another TD. Sure, his TDs hurt, but he was no more horrid than the rest of the Bears.

Between Grossman and Pennington, I would take Pennington. That doesn't mean the blame for the game lies on Grossman's shoulders. The Bears defense looked awful against the Cowboys.

The Bears defense seemed to be on the field for the whole game. If Urlacher's unit was a platoon, Grossman would be fragged.

Even if the bears had considered a QB...who would they have gotten...Kolb, Edwards, Beck, Stanton...or even troy Smith... And of those...who has seen playing time (Kolb and Edwards to the best of my knowledge) and how many teams are comfortable starting those guys and/or putting them in important/non-desperate situations?
