The biggest game in Austrian history as a win could see them move one step closer to advancing to the quarterfinals of Euro 2008 for the first time ever.

But Poland is also a debutant in this tournament, and they must win or it is all over for them.

And don't worry, I'll be here for the NBA Finals....

Howard Webb is the referee for this match.

We are underway in Vienna! Poland in the white jerseys, Austria in the red.

It's do or die for one of these sides tonight.

Pogatetz with the free kick that is away by Poland, but now Pogatetz again, loses it, and lost it again on a poor pass.

Neither team has scored a goal in this tournament, and goal differential means everything now.

Poland on the attack but the centering effort is away by Pogatetz.

The Polish manager has never won a game in an international tournament, now Austria no the attack, wonderful football.

Korkhmaz with it, it's gone to Vastic! Just wide....

So 6 minutes in, a lot of good skill but no goals to show for it.

Whistle blown for a high kick on Poland, free kick Austria. Proedl with the throw in for Austria, that long ball is too high and Poland will get it back.

Not a good start for Austria, Poland has had the better share of the possession and have not lost the ball that easily.

Ball is loose, now Austria is attacking, and Martin Harnik is down for the Austrians as he crashed into a Polish defender.

Free kick Austria though....32 meters to goal, and Andreas Ivanschitz has a go! Easy save by the goalkeeper.

First shot on goal so far and it's a give away by Poland! HARNIK ON A BREAKAWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE'S MISSED IT!!!! I don't believe it, the keeper got a slight touch on it though so it's a corner kick.

Artur Boruc, the Polish goalkeeper forces another corner, but from the other side of the pitch.

It's a short corner, a Polish man is down, and now Howard Webb blows the whistle as he checks on Michał Żewłakow.

Korkhmaz with a lovely run, a chance for AUSTRIA!! Boruc with the save, they get it again, away by Poland, too many opportunities slipping by.

It was Martin Harnik yet again missing an absolute sitter of a try.

Poland on the move, but they don't do much with it but a poor clearance by Austria gives Poland a throw in.

Good ball on the counter attack, AND BORUC MAKES ANOTHER SAVE!!!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!! It's not fully away, and the ball deflects wide of the post and it's a corner kick.

Ivanschitz takes the corner and should've done better.

Poland had a counter attack for a moment there but the first touch let Smolarek down.

A back and forth start to this match, Austria at this point should be up 3-0. Too many chances missed. Just 17 minutes in and both sides have had opportunities.

Harnik again, advantage played, and Ivanschitz has another go at it! The ball sails high and it's a goal kick. Christoph Leitgeb should've done better as ESPN shows the replay of the last Austrian chance.

That's now 4 shots on goal for Austria and 7 overall.

It's a very open game, neither side playing very good defense really, but it makes for exciting football doesn't it?

Jacek Krzynówek has a go for Poland but it is wide of the near post.

Lovely play from Michał Żewłakow but his cross is lousy.

Another chance for Austria now! György Garics with a shot and again Boruc makes the save! He is not to be denied at all!

Austria are now dominating the game but have yet to score when they should be 3-0 or 4-0 up. And they are attacking again, what a play by the Ivanschitz but the cross is away by Poland.

Okay, bear with me, I'll have to find out the player names later because spelling it is a pain in the butt.

Poland gets their first corner of the game, up go the heads and now another counter-attack by Austria, Korkhmaz loses it but it's a throw in.

Garics' throw takes a bounce and is cleared away, and Poland are now resorting to play the longball down the left or right flank.

Ha ha ESPN, like anyone cares about the MLS here in the US. You would think I'd watch an MLS game over an NBA Finals game 4? What nonsense.

We are at the 28th minute, Poland have been thoroughly dominated the last 20 minutes by the 92nd ranked team in the world by FIFA. They are worse than Mozambique and better than Thailand.

Ivanschitz leading the way but the pass for Harnik was too far and it is away by Boruc.

Garics' throw, Korkhmaz lays it off and Leitgeb's touch was awful, counter attack for Poland. The ball is driven across the face of goal!!!!!!!!! It has taken a deflection and IT'S IN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Completely against the flow and the odds, Poland leads on Guerrero's tap in. Pogatetz loses his marker, the ball by Marek Saganowski hit the keeper's hands and Guerrero has broken Austrian hearts.

1-0!

It's the first ever goal by Poland in the European championships from the Brazilian born Guerrero.

It was coming, time and time again Austria could've scored, but they are down by a goal, and Poland's only shot on target is the difference of the game.

Now Austria are up against it, they had the chances on their counter-attacks, mainly Martin Harnik, and they are beaten by a counter attack.

Harnik giving chase on the ball but it's behind him, another giveaway by Poland and the ball is sent in but it is poor.

Jacek Krzynówek! Well high of the target.

We are in the 36th minute of an enthralling battle between debutants of the tournament. Austria's attacking play seems to have tapered off now that they have lost control of the game.

Jacek Krzynówek goes for it again! But a comfortable save by Jürgen Macho.

Austria have lost 14 of 16 games, and the ball driven across is away. Pogatetz to throw it in, it's flicked on, and now it's away.

Game starting to slow down a bit, never before have hosts of the tournament gone winless, and Switzerland and Austria may be a dual party.

A counter attack now for Austria perhaps here. Garics loses possession, but gains it back, Harnik, headed away for an Austrian throw. Only Denmark in 2000 failed to score in group stage of the tournament.

Now 2 1/2 minutes plus 1 minutes of stoppage time before halftime.

Clumsy challenge by Michał Żewłakow.

Ivanschitz to take the free kick, and the ball swerves it but the first defender heads it away, but a good ball for Harnik who couldn't cut inside but a foul has been given late by Howard Webb just near the corner flag.

Looks like a bad call to me, and a fair challenge there.

Ivanschitz again to take the free kick at the stroke of halftime, they'll go to the ground and that fell apart quickly. A foul on Austria, and they waste a virtual gift.

There is that one minute of stoppage time now given by the 4th official. A gripping match, and as things stand, Poland are still in 3rd place on goal diff with Germany.

Korkhmaz is taken down and it's a free kick for Austria. It will be the last chance of the half for either side.

It's 31 meters away from goal. They've gone for it and it's a good free kick by Leitgeb!!!!!!!! All Pogatetz needed was a touch on it and it would've been 1-1.

Halftime now, Roger Guerreiro your goal scorer in the 30th minute in Vienna. Certainly Artur Boruc has saved Poland from humiliation, Austria deserved better with their chances. Alas, it just doesn't seem to be Austria's day, their tournament, or year.

At halftime, the scoreline reads:

In other news, Seattle has witnessed Sun and that will lead the local news for the first 5 minutes.

Dangerous backpass to Macho but it's away and Austria maintain possession.

That's going to be a dive by Ivanschitz in the penalty area and it looks like Howard Webb has given him a foul because of the dive. No yellow (or red) card was given.

It's sent in and caught by Boruc. What a ball to Smolarek who fires!!! Good save by Macho, it's still not away, and Macho able to grab it. But it's taken away again and a chance for him again! Too high though.

Game is starting to get sloppy, and a nicely angled cross is caught by Macho, what a bounce and the clearance went from Macho to Boruc!

30 minutes to go, and a substitution for Austria will come soon...

That's going to be a booking on Jacek Krzynówek after the whistle had gone for offsides and that will be a time wasting warning.

Gurreiro's cross is still in play, now Mariusz Lewandowski has a go and it's deflected for a corner.

MACHO SAVES IT TWICE!!!!!!!!! The ball was aimed for the far post, Jacek Bak turned well and shot, and the 2nd one from long range was also stopped.

Off: Andreas Ivanschitz

On: Ivica Vastic (aged 38)

A player for the Poles is down, it's Saganowski, and Poland will be down to 10 men temporarily.

Saganowski back in the game and Austria lose the ball again, and a free kick has been given again!

Let's see what happens here...OH WHAT A SHOT AND MACHO GETS A FINGERTIP ON Krzynowek's ROCKET!!!

Austria look flat, they've given the ball away constantly and they've just stopped being great offensively.

Just 20 minutes left, and Poland is really pressing for that 2nd goal to knock the hosts out of the tournament.

This is lopsided now the other way, another sub for Austria and it will be their last.

And a yellow card for Prodl on the foul and he will miss the next match!

Korkhmaz ready to shoot and it's blocked, Austria looking better now and they've won themselves a corner.

Sub for Austria:

Off: René Aufhauser

On: Jeurgen Samuel

No more subs, Prodl sends the ball in and it's away for a throw in for Austria.

Free kick to the hosts.....

Can Austria get a famous goal and that elusive equalizer? It's 30 meters from goal. Vastic takes it and it is somewhere in row 7. One of the poorest free kicks I've ever seen...

Still haven't seen a goal in this tournament off of a free kick.

Kienast, good run, now loses his balance, Austria setting things up again. Kienast is onside! Ball is too far....

Kienast really getting involved here and he wins a free kick. Vastic with a better ball, Boruc loses the ball and it's headed out of danger for a corner kick.

Take 2 after the first one was kicked away.

Same result....but it stayed in play, Smolarek is there and he's missed the ball entirely!

Oh what a fantastic spin move by Guerreiro but it means nil after losing it on the turn.

He has it again, loses it again, and it's cleared by Garics.

Another corner kick for Austria, many chances for them to try and get it to 1-1. And the header by Proedl! It's wide and it actually went off his shoulder.

They are playing keepaway the Poles are. A high foot there by the Poles and it's a free kick.

They'll have to redo the free kick. AND HOWARD WEBB HAS GIVEN A PENALTY!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PROEDL WAS TAKEN DOWN!!!!!!!! It's a clear penalty, and now Austria can tie it here!

Who will take the penalty? It will be Vastic.

This keeps Austria's tournament alive....last kick of the game, AND HE SCORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE OLDEST MAN IN THE TOURNAMENT HAS DONE IT!!!!!!! POLAND ARE FLATTENED!!!!!! AND AUSTRIA SALVAGES A DRAW!!! What drama!

IT IS OVER!!! AUSTRIA HAVE GOT THE DRAW!! For both sides, it's their first points in the European championships, and Vastic has forced a draw, and it will be a dramatic final day of group play on Monday.

Honestly, it should've been Austria's win for the most part. So many chances, but Artur Boruc saved the day. The goals came from Roger Guerreiro in the 30th minute, and Ivica Vastic in the 93rd minute.

Poland dominated the 2nd half, but in the final stages, it was not to be, heartbreak for them. Now they no longer control their own destiny, they will have to beat the now quarterfinalists Croatia, and hope that Germany and Austria draw.

Here is how group B stands:

1. Croatia (6 points, +2 GD)

2. Germany (3 points, +1 GD)

3. Austria (1 point, -1 GD)

4. Poland (1 point, -2 GD)

It should set up a wonderful last week of group stage action, so that's it from me, SSR, with the final score in Vienna:

Austria 1 Poland 1
