Hi, Joe and Tim. And let me say that everyone in America (outside of Colorado) hopes that we won't have to see you call (ruin?) a baseball game again until next spring.

I like Tim.

An analyst is only as good as the play by play guy. If he tries to dominate the broadcast then it makes what the color guy say seem forced and unimportant.

And look at it this way, it could have been much, much worse. We could be listening to Thom Brennaman instead.

That's why you can turn the volume down and I'll capture the drama as much as I can with this liveblog.

This crowd is electric, I must say. They, more than anything kept the Rockies in the game last night.

Lester is another potential star for Boston. They have a core of players that will carry the torch when the veterans either retire or leave via free agency.

There's something not right about Wakefield being in the dugout but not being active. Francona and the scouting staff have to know how much better the Sox are, it would have taken an act of Congress for the Rockies to win more than one game in this series.

Would there have been any harm in Wakefield being active, even if he didn't play? Why not deactivate Gagne or someone else who wouldn't have played. What's the difference. For what Wake means to the team, it's not right.

Just in case you guys hadn't heard, its official. Scott Boras sent an email earlier today announcing ARod has opted out.

Amazing that Roger Clemens gets a big deal but A-Rod won't.

Hell will freeze over before we sign A-Rod to play third base for the 2008 Red Sox.

The Sox are in good hands. They don't need high-priced free agents. They're the model franchise. Payroll as a determining factor is overrated. You still have to have the chemistry on the team and the money has to be spent wisely. They have it all covered on all fronts. Hitting, Pitching, Bullpen.
