The answer to the above question? We'll see. Yeah, it's not much, but it's my first legitimate piece of primary sourcing, straight from him. It sounded like a sincere one, so perhaps in 4-5 years he'll consider a comeback. This article's too light though, so instead here's some random stuff about the baseball season.
Okay, so the Red Sox deal for Gagne. Good move in the sense of keeping him away from the Yanks. But you have a 9th inning guy in Papelbon and an 8th inning guy in Okajima. Is their playing time gonna be reduced for the sake of throwing him in? I mean, what Boston needed to do at the deadline was get another starter as insurance so that we never have to put Tavarez as a starter again. He's a reliever, always will be.
Buddy Bell resigns as KC coach? The central cellar's finally starting to come around. I mean, yeah it's effective at the end of the season, but it's nominated alongside Hargrove with the worst timing of a coach's quitting. Though they can say they didn't get fired. Still, look for KC to start being a potential playoff team in 3-4 years. I was gonna say 1-2 but the firing's gonna push them back.
A-rod hasn't hit #500 yet? I'm sure all the Yankee fans are booing that just because they're so spoiled with this guy. He wins the MVP last year and that's not good enough for them. I could do a long rant on this, but I'll save it for now until something provokes me.
The Padres have great pithing but no hitting. So how come they didn't really do anything this past deadline?
Oh, and Kenny Lofton to the tribe? I'm waiting for an apology for those that said it was a bad move.
The Cubs have moved up to first place? Well, they got an ace in Zambrano, and they're a good enough team that in a crappy NL Central they got a shot. Who does Milwaukee have pitching? Sheets, Capuano?
Oh, and one lat random tangent: I agree with Gilbert Arenas 100% on the shark thing!
Rather short one today, I'm tired, sorry.
