Although the Cleveland Indians did horrible on this homestand going 1-4, some good things came out of it. Grady Sizemore was moved to 3 slot in the line-up, where you could immediately tell he made a bigger impact in that role. This move allowed Kenny Lofton to move in to the lead off role. Personally I like this move; it allows the speedy Lofton to get on base with no one in front of him, which will allow him to get more stolen bases, which will help the Tribe, one of the slowest teams in baseball. One of things I’m not so fond of is the premature call up of AAA infielder Asdrubal Cabrera. Cabrera has the potential to be a good infielder, but the Indians rushed in bringing him up. Chris Gomez provides some depth in the infield, something we did not have before we claimed him off waivers. People think the Indians are completely out of the race because they’ve been in a slump, I think now we will be out of that slump if we play well against Tampa Bay this upcoming weekend, I’d be disappointed with anything less than a sweep. After playing the Devil Rays we head to Detroit to play a series that could possibly make or break the season for the Tribe and the Tigers.
