So maybe it's not the computers that mess up the BCS (okay, it still is) but the USA Today Coaches' Poll just came out, and here it is:
1. West Virginia (37)
2. Missouri (17)
3. Ohio State (6)
4. Georgia
T5. Kansas
T5. Virginia Tech
7. LSU
8. Oklahoma
10. Hawaii
11. Florida
12. Boston College
13. Arizona State
14. Illinois
15. Tennessee
16. Wisconsin
17. Clemson
18. Texas
19. Brigham Young
20. Oregon
T21. Auburn
T21. Virginia
23. Boise State
24. Cincinnati
25. Arkansas

What irks me is that West Virginia is number one with a win against a weak #20 UConn, while Mizzou is #2 after beating previous #2 Kansas. Wasn't there a consensus among the people that Mizzou would leapfrog into the #1 spot? Wasn't WVU not even supposed to jump Mizzou last week? How do they get to keep their spot this week, if they weren't even supposed to have it last week?
Other gripes:
Georgia's #4 even though they didn't make it into the SEC championship.
Big Ten teams keep moving up despite the fact that they're idle (Ohio State, Illinois).
Hawaii finally gets to the top ten (albeit against a weak schedule...this one's a pick 'em).
Kansas is still at #5 even after losing to its first quality opponent played.
A four-loss team in Auburn at #21? Ahead of Cincinnati and Boise State? Are they really that good? (I don't care that they were #25 last time...at least they shouldn't be ahead of Boise State, or maybe even Cincy).
Yes, there are trends in voting, and yes, they happen every single poll, and yes, this is only one person's opinion, but that still doesn't make this right, especially WVU over Mizzou. That's just bad.
