This is not my work, it was calculated by Dave Studeman over at The Hardball Times. But I thought it was interesting enough to repost over here. It's a list of the Win Expectancy Added and Leverage Indexes for each team's bullpen as of the beginning of action today.
Very few surprises, really. The Padres bullpen is fantastic, with setup guys like Scott Linebrink and Cla "The One That Got Awa" Meredith getting the ball to Trevor Hoffman. The Los Angeles Dodgers have Jonathan Broxton and Takashi Saito, the Milwaukee Brewers are real happy with Francisco Cordero, and the Boston Red Sox are in real good shape with Jonathan Papelbon, Hideki "Hero in the Dark" Okajima, and Brendan Donnelly.
On the other end of the spectrum, the four worst teams are struggling mightily. The Kansas City Royals are just an absolute mess, although Joakim Soria is a bit of a bright spot, the Toronto Blue Jays bullpen has been hit hard by injuries to B.J. Ryan and others, the Florida Marlins have pitched in a lot of pressure situations (highest LI in the majors), but haven't been able to execute (third-lowest WPA), and the New York Yankees bullpen was extremely overworked in April with the starters struggling so badly.
