Buffalo Sabres resign Coach/GM

Hooray, the genius Lawrence Quinn resigned in a shocking move, the Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff, and General Manager, Darcy Regier. Great the Sabres brought back their coach who hasn't won a cup and a GM who undervalues players and drags his feet when signing his own players specifically McKee and Briere. Thank god no big players are eligible for arbitration this season or the Sabres would be fucked. http://wgr550.com/sabres/fullstory.php?id=2452

Of course you bring these guys back, but the only real problem with this whole thing is 3 years for Lindy? He couldn't win with one of if not these best goalie of the past 15 years in Dom Hasek, couldn't win with a surprise upstart team built for a "new" NHL with speed and scoring, and couldn't win with the President's Trophy winner. Hmm but he is one of the best playoff coaches of his era.

The three headed monster that is Larry, Lindy, and Darcy, claims their cap number is going to go up this season. Is that possible without resigning their co-captains? Well at least they have had preliminary talks and have had "phone conversations" Wha Wha ?

You have 16 day to resign these guys before they are gone for ever and you have barely sat down with either one of them? Smells like Briere in arbitration last year or McKee not being signed before July 1. The worst policy of all time, not negotiating with any player during the season... Thanks three headed monster.

If these guys or one of them isn't brought back then look for some cheap seats next year in the bank arena, I guess that could be a good thing really... I'm not gonna make predictions cause really who the hell knows, but I wouldn't be surprised with anything at this point, well maybe except for the Sabres to resign Briere and let Drury walk.

Nice article but is it "resign" or "re-sign"? Just wondering.

The latter I think. I would resign a chess game if I was losing (well, I wouldn't, I just used that as an example). Re-sign is to sign again. Sign here means to apply your signature... So I'd plump for re-sign.

Also you're applying a prefix to sign... There's no such word as "peat"... or "tire" (in the context of retire), so I think you need the hyphen.

I'm not trying to be a grammar arse but I think Alex is right. At first, I thought the GM and the coach resigned, meaning left the team.

Shame the Sabres won't be able to sign their free agents. The management will remain the same. The locker room is going to change. Their window to win the CUp has closed.

The Sabres had better get their act together... there needs to be a team in the east that can play the big rival to the upcoming run of dominance by Sid the Kid and the Penguins. :)
