Colon's Elbow Irritated
Los Angeles Angels SP Bartolo Colon left Wednesday's game after one inning with right elbow irritation. Colon surrendered four runs in the bottom of the first and was replaced by Kevin Gregg after a 10-run top of the second inning. The elbow irritation probably resulted from Colon's overcompensating for his shoulder troubles.
Kazmir Scratched
Tampa Bay Devil Rays SP Scott Kazmir will miss Friday's start against the New York Yankees. "He's a little bit sore," manager Joe Maddon said. "We just wanted to move him back and give him a couple extra days. We're pretty sure he's going to be fine at that point. I really have no major concerns at all. I think a little extra rest will do the trick."
Nomar Sidelined for Five
Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Nomar Garciaparra will likely be sidelined for five games with a sprained ligament in his right knee. Garciaparra hurt his knee covering second base in Monday's game.
