There are some things about sports I don't like... the New Yuck Muts, the University of Michigan and those ASSCRACK UGLY HELMETS, the Floridamn Gayturds and the Miami Crimicanes. I also think that NASCRAP and professional wrestling are a HUGE waste of air time on television and would rather watch women's Jello wrestling!

Rays skipper says Duncan slide bordered on criminal/ Where's Jack McCoy?

I hope that this is the last I write about the on-going feud between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (I am so used to calling them the Devil Rays, even if they did change the name). Tampa Bay skipper Joe Maddon even went so far as to say that the slide by Shelly Duncan "bordered on criminal." Bordered on criminal. Any moment, you may hear that sound effect that's used on the NBC hit show " Law & Order " and Jack McCoy may walk in the room.

If it's criminal, why in the hell aren't Briscoe and Green investigating the case? Granted, it was a cheap shot. But criminal? I didn't see any crime scene tape around second base.  Like Tom Petty, Maddon "won't back down." I don't blame him. But at the same time, it's time that this thing be put to bed and out of our misery. Tampa Bay and the Yankees will play each other some 19 times in 2008. Let's allow the powers that be to investigate this thing. Then let Bob Watson do his best Jack McCoy impression and solve this thing.

There may be suspensions and probably some fines when the smoke settles. When the smoke does settle, let's hope that these two teams play the game the way it was meant to be. Hard but clean.

Hank Steinbrenner has already shipped the Yankee memorabilia to Capitol Hill in advance. For a favorable Yankee verdict, the broken bat tossed by Clemens at Piazza will be included.

Jack McCoy is the DA of Manhattan, not the Bronx. So he has no jurisdiction. So there. Yeah, that just happened.

This little spring training mixer is getting annoying. Just cause the Yankees are involved doesn't make it news ESPN. Thanks for setting the NY/BOS agenda. Cougar2K, nice work, you can only write on what's newsworthy.

LOL - It would've been hilarious if this had happened in the "Billy Crystal" game.

McCarver: You can only take down the Designated Hebrew by making him eat ham. Someone throw some bacon at Crystal so that you can stop this brawl. Why is no one listening to me break down the obvious in painstaking detail? Hello? Anyone?

If the reversed happened (say a random scrub Yankee minor leaguer broke the wrist of a minor league catcher prospect for the Rays) who here honestly think that Joe Maddon would be any less acid spitting than Giradi on the matter? and if Johnny Gomes retaliated by spiking Cano. and Shelley tackled him... who's fault would it be?

The Yankees right.

(Not that i think Duncan made the right decision. but the railing on Giradi is insane. are you saying that another manager wouldn't go ballistic if their player were injured in ST in such a play? legit or not? )
