1st Summer Cookout-- Free Food and Drinks w/ Players

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that all-star G Roberto Luongo and other select Panthers players will greet fans at the first ‘Cats Cookout’ of the summer. The cookout will be held on Thursday, May 11, located on BankAtlantic Center’s South Carls Patio at 6 p.m.

The festivities will begin with a free barbeque dinner, open bar and live music on the Carl’s Patio. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to meet the Florida Panthers sales team, select seats for the upcoming season and get tours and information on memberships to the new “Captain’s Club.”

The Captain’s Club is a brand new all-inclusive club on the sunset terrace that will open in time for the 2006-2007 Florida Panthers season. The Captain’s Club will encompass approximately 12,000 square feet and will cater to approximately 500 members with a Panthers themed interior design, full-service bar, outdoor patio, specialty buffet and tremendous sightlines.

“The ‘Cats Cookout’ is another example of our continued efforts to create unique opportunities for Panthers fans to interact with our players,” Sunrise Sports & Entertainment chief operating officer Michael Yormark said. “Fans can look forward to great Panthers events all summer long.”

“Fans can look forward to great Panthers events all summer long..." He should have added, "...because they're not playing in the Stanley Cup playoffs, that's for sure!" Ilya Bryzgalov would have hosted a Ducks cookout as well, but he's busy making a strong bid to win the NHL's Annual Tournament To Determine the Hottest Goalie. Sorry, Anaheim.
