With Yovani Gallardo starting for the Brewers yesterday there has been a couple good young pitchers so far this season. With Tim Lincecum, Phil Hughes, and Homer Bailey this is the year of future ace's. Then there is Matt Garza a really good young pitcher who might get called up later this year. These guys will be fun to watch down the road.

These pitchers will have their ups and downs by but end of the year some of them should have very good records. Justin Germano of the Padres is 5-0 with a 2.36 ERA so could wind up being the NL Rookie Pitcher of the Year if they have a separate award for pitchers.

Never have I seen such a buildup for such a mediocre pitcher. Even heard him compared to Bob Feller and Sandy Koufax...shows once more minor league success doesn't always translate into major league success. He is pitching more like Kip Wells to me.
